The Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed his condolences to the staff of the Moscow Drama Theater and to the relatives and friends, on the death of People's Artist of the USSR, theater and film actor Armen Jigarkhanyan. The telegram posted on the official website of the Kremlin reads:

 

"I learned with deep sorrow about the death of Armen Borisovich Jigarkhanyan, a great actor, bright, talented and charming person. It is a great loss for the national culture, for millions of people in Russia and other countries, for all of us. He was sincerely loved for his talent, warmth of soul, dedication to his profession and audience. We will forever preserve the memory of the master, truly a People's Artist, Armen Jigarkhanyan".
