Armenia health minister to Russia envoy: At the moment our healthcare system is working in 3 directions

Minister of Health Arsen Torosyan met with Russian Ambassador to Armenia Sergey Kopirkin, the Ministry of Health informed.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Minister thanked Russia for its assistance to Armenia in health care, especially emphasizing the respective recent work in the fight against coronavirus, as well as the work being done to combat HIV/AIDS.

Also, Torosyan referred to the situation in the Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) conflict zone and thanked Russia for its efforts aimed at resolving this conflict. "It is so that at the moment, our healthcare system works in three directions: the first direction is planned measures (…), the second—the coronavirus pandemic (…). And third, taking into account the [current] workload of the Artsakh healthcare system as a result of hostilities, the healthcare sector of Armenia also provides corresponding assistance to alleviate the workload. The workload of the healthcare system in three directions, of course, causes some difficulties, but we are managing to overcome [them]," said the Minister.

Also, the interlocutors expressed mutual readiness to continue and strengthen their cooperation in health care.
